Our main 8,000 sq ft growing facility, as well as all of the buildings in our Green Island subdivision, utilize passive solar design features. Passive Solar means that with no electrical, mechanical or any moving parts, the Sun’s energy is utilized. Here at Tiny Greens, the entire south wall of our underground growing facility is covered with windows and a two-foot overhang. This design allows for maximum sunlight penetration into the building during the cold months when we want the sun’s heat, and minimal penetration in the warm months when we don’t want the heat gain.
